How do I break points off amethyst crystals?

I have an amethyst cluster and i’m wondering how to get the points off. i have read a lot about them please help

Hammer and screwdriver at the base of the point you want. Use the screwdriver like a chisel and give it a good tap with the hammer. It may take a try or two to break the crystal along a good fracture plane, but it’ll work.
