My custom system, my big problem?

Here’s my computer: Xion Onyx (black w/ green) case w/ built in 450 watt power supply; Intel PD 3.2 Ghz CPU; ECS nVidia 570i mobo; EVGA 7600 GS 512mb vid card; 1 gb ocz gold ddr2 memory; Lite-on SATA DVD+-R drive, Western Digital 250gb SATA hard drive; and an Ultra cooling fan and OCZ +5 silver thermal paste. Cost $750 buying from Tigerdirect.com.

Here’s my problem: I get everything plugged in and hooked up as it is supposed to be. I turn on the system. The lights above the ethernet port flash once, but nothing else. I quintuple check to make sure everything is right. Still nothing. I am asuming that the power supply is the problem, seeing how the outlet is working but the fan for the p/s isn’t even coming on. But if that is the case, then why does the ethernet light flash when I throw the switch? I have RA to return it for an exchange at the website, but am I overlooking something? Also, there is no red switch between the power plug-in and the power switch.

first things first…

it sound like your board has power (a light came on)…

you could buy a power supply tester I think they’re like 20.00 but that pretty much what a new OEM powersupply will cost.

check jumper’s….try to boot

move the jumper to increase the RAM voltage…try to boot

re-seat your CPU and fan…try to boot

make sure that your board is not being grounded out…(touching any metal on the case…even those tiny little point on the underside)…try to boot

clear CMOS, take battery out, reset cmos jumper….wait 5-10min…move jumper back…put batter back…try to boot?

pull out everything but 1 stick of ram, the cpu + fan, and HDD
if you have on board video use it, if not put the 76xx in…try to boot..

move the ram stick, to each of the dimm’s one at a time, try to boot from each…

no…ok…it’s time to get drastic…let me know how this goes and I’ll fill you in on the next step…
