Sending jewelry overseas….?

I have earrings and a bracelet I want to send to someone outside the United States. Is USPS trustworthy enough to send these things?

BTW, I’ve never sent anything before but I know there’s a customs sheet that needs to be filled out and it needs to be detailed with what’s in the package. Do you really have to say what exactly you’re sending or can you just say “gift”? Because I’ve heard that detailing exactly what’s in the box can lead to stolen items, especially if they’re valuable.

Experience speaking, USPS is definitely reliable to send things outside the US. However, you do in fact have to write on the customs sheet exactly what is in the box. That way the shippers know to take care of it if need be.
